FAQs
Listing and Selling Products
- What types of products can I sell on Wasteless Bio?
- You may list life science products, including short-expiry, expired, or surplus items, as long as they comply with the manufacturer's storage requirements. Both consumables and instruments may be second-hand, but consumables must be unused. A vetting process is in place before you can start listing products.
- Is there a fee to list my products?
- No, Wasteless Bio allows you to list products free of charge.
- Is Wasteless Bio stocking products?
- Wasteless Bio is a marketplace that connects buyers and sellers; we do not store or manage any inventory ourselves.
- What should I do if I no longer have a listed product in stock?
- Please inform Wasteless Bio right away so we can update or remove your listing and avoid any inconvenience for potential buyers.
Fees and Payments
- What commission does Wasteless Bio charge?
- We charge a flat commission of 15% on consumables and 20% on instruments, excluding shipping costs. This commission applies to each completed transaction through the platform.
Shipping and Delivery
- Who handles shipping?
- The default Incoterm is FCA (Free Carrier). Sellers handle delivery to the agreed carrier (including export customs clearance), and buyers handle shipping from that point on—covering costs and risks (including import customs). Shipping costs can either be built into the product price or charged separately.
- What happens if there are issues with shipping?
- Given that these products (which may be second-hand, expired, or surplus) are shipped directly from sellers, Wasteless Bio cannot accept responsibility for shipping complications or product performance after shipment. We ensure that sellers on the platforms adhere to the highest standards.
- What are the seller's responsibilities for shipping?
- Sellers must package items securely and use appropriate conditions to prevent damage (e.g., temperature control for sensitive products). They also must complete all necessary shipping documents.
- Are shipping costs included in the product price?
- Generally, shipping costs are not included unless stated otherwise in the listing. Buyers cover shipping unless they agree on a different arrangement with the seller.
Product Quality and Returns
- How does Wasteless Bio ensure quality?
- Sellers must meet our platform standards by listing items accurately and complying with correct storage requirements. We also vet potential sellers before they can list products.
- What is the return/refund policy?
- Buyers may request a refund if the item significantly differs from its listing description and can provide proof. However, please remember that using second-hand products can carry inherent risks, so we advise buyers to review listings carefully before purchasing.
Buying Experience
- Can I negotiate prices?
- Yes. Each listing has a feature that lets you place an offer, which the seller can then accept, decline, or counter.
Sustainability
- How does Wasteless Bio help with sustainability in Life Sciences?
- By enabling companies to sell or redistribute products they no longer need, Wasteless Bio helps reduce operational waste, cut hazardous disposal, and improve circularity in the life sciences supply chain—ultimately reducing Scope 3 emissions.
- How can I calculate my emissions savings with Wasteless Bio?
- We use the GHG protocol to estimate emissions based on the weight of products sold or bought through our platform. If you have unique reporting criteria, we can work with that as well.
If you have any further questions, feel free to get in touch with us at Wasteless Bio. We're here to help buyers and sellers make the most of surplus life science products—while reducing environmental impact at the same time.
