Overview
Thermo Fisher Scientific RPMI 1640 Medium is a cell culture medium formulated for the growth and maintenance of mammalian cells in vitro. The formulation contains L-glutamine and sodium bicarbonate and is supplied without phenol red. RPMI 1640 medium was originally developed for human leukemic cells in suspension culture and is widely used for lymphoid cells, hybridomas and a variety of suspension and adherent mammalian cell lines. The product is supplied as a sterile-filtered liquid medium in a 500 mL bottle.
