About this product
Pierce™ Protein Concentrators PES, 30K MWCO
Application
Pierce™ Protein Concentrators PES are designed for rapid and efficient concentration of protein and other biological samples such as nucleic acids. Ideal for sample concentration, desalting, and buffer exchange workflows in protein purification and molecular biology laboratories.
Product Details
- Catalog Number: 88502
- MWCO: 30K Dalton molecular weight cutoff (MWCO)
- Sample Volume: Up to 0.5 mL per concentrator
- Material: Polyethersulfone (PES) membrane for high flux and low protein binding
- Membrane Design: Vertical high-flux membrane with unique channel design for optimal flow and minimal clogging
- Dead-stop Volume: Approximately 15 μL
- Recovery: Typical protein recovery >90% when protein mass is at least twice the MWCO
- Instrument Compatibility: Compatible with common microcentrifuges with swinging or fixed-angle rotors (except for catalog 88536 which is for larger volumes)
Key Features
- Rapid protein concentration achieving 10- to 30-fold concentration in 15 minutes or less
- Excellent protein recovery, typically above 90%
- Compatible with microcentrifuges having swinging or fixed-angle rotors (model-specific)
- Versatile for concentration, desalting, and buffer exchange procedures
- Visual graduated window enables easy sample monitoring and volume determination
- High-performance PES membrane minimizes protein aggregation and non-specific binding
- Not recommended for autoclaving; sterilize with 70% ethanol if needed
